Feel the kiss of the sun
The light of sun spills out between trees
Like a warm liquid that brings you to your knees
It makes you spread out our your arms
Like you could take flight
Like you could fly.
It’s because were born to.
To extend out wings and walk on the clouds
To drift through the wind
Like swimming in the blueness of the sky
It’s in us all,
The urge to fly.
But our instincts are lost
In busier things
Our jobs,
Our schools,
Our family,
But were fools
You can’t feel the lick of the sun through tinted windows
Can’t feel its warmth from your screen.
It’s calling
Don’t you hear it?
A subtle but desperate scream
Who still walks in the park?
Who still climbs in the trees?
Who still sits by the fire?
Who still listens to the rustling leaves?
Why are we trapped?
Chained to our chairs
Too lost and lonely
In our own worries and cares?
Why can’t we feel the sun on our skin?
Feel that fire ignite from within?
Why can’t we open our wings and fly?
Fly through the clouds, across the sky?
Make your choice,
Stuck to a screen
With the sun just a glare,
Or feel its kiss
Let the wind through your hair.
And here I’ll be waiting
With no worry or care,
Until you come out saying,
You want to be there.
