Grape soda
Cake frosting
The violets that my mother keeps
On the windowsill
In the kitchen
My room whispers it
On Saturday nights
Heliotrope is king
In lavender pajamas
Toenails painted plum
Deep inside warm socks
Like fuzzy striped caterpillars
A hot cup of tea
Resting on my ottoman
An amethyst perfume bottle
Crevandor's coat of arms
Sunday mornings
Tinted light
Shining through lilac curtains
My aluminum bird sings
Berries from the tree in the backyard
Top my oatmeal
And stain my lips
