August Stars
I will make a point to note the last streak of pink,
Which fell across the sky with a scream of summer.
And the stars which all rested with a wink,
As the last lonely moon smiled down on the night.
And life was all but forgotten in the haze.
Yet all held the memories close and tight,
As the blazing stars captivated their gaze.
