Mommy
Why did you leave...?
I did nothing wrong, but you would’ve told me if I did,
Right?
At least, if I did, you know I didn’t mean too…
I mean…
It was our fault that you and Steve left each other.
You may not want to admit it, but it’s true,
And you know it is.
I don’t know now, and I didn’t then either
You started acting different when you met that man you "loved"...
Always tired
Always drained
Tell me, how did you manage yourself?
You were always so tired, but able to stay out so, so late.
It wasn’t fair you know.
I didn’t know then, but I was taking care of everyone,
Even you…
I woke up brother every morning,
Not you.
I made him for school every day,
Not you.
Made sure we were on the bus on time,
Never you.
Oh sure, you had your moments when you were you again,
Then you were gone as fast as you came
And it confuses me Mom…
I would think after taking care of me for so long,
You’d stay forever.
But I was wrong,
Like I always am…
Right, Mom?
