I Am
I am
long car rides under the changing fall trees
camera in hand
curled up with a book
coffee in the morning.
I am
libraries and book stores
pen behind ear
converse and mismatched socks
hunched over a desk
I am
the furry vibrations of a content cat
banana bread baking on a Sunday afternoon
I am
notebooks scattered
rushed words scribbled on lines
I am
green eyes
blue painted toes
dirty fingers
pink-purple-turquoise hair
I am
rainy days
soft music twinkling in the dusk
the scent of lilac trees
walks home at lunch
I am
late night thoughts
tangled sheets
tossing, turning
I am
dancing around the kitchen
the house to myself
alone
but not always lonely
I am
awkward
timid, shy
observant
quiet
Me.
