The Sparrow's Lover
In rough beginnings and beautiful endings.
Tippety-tap!
Tippety-tap-tap!
Oh the tippety-tap way she moves.
Closed faces and dreaded kisses.
The way the sparrow leaves her lover.
She spreads her wings for the best of her soul.
How many other lovers will this sparrow have?
The taste of monogamy is still
And not optional.
Leaving for a period of time
That the previous lover will never know.
A simple breeze
Causes teardrops to fall uneasy.
Upon a lust,
That will remain uninterrupted.
In hopes, I had once clipped your wings,
But now they have grown again.
I know what you must do to live.
You are my sparrow
And I am your lover.
