Dreams

Each night we all travel into a place where all emotions take flight.

They can be happy, they can be luxurious, some even comforting.

This is where the white steeds and brave knights fight at your side.

This is where mermaids comb the seas and the shoe always fits.

This is where evil never has the chance to state it’s opinion.

This is where flowers grow as you take each delicate step, and where you are treated as a god.

This is where some long to be during the day.


Nightmares

Each night we all travel to a place where emotions take flight.

They can be sad, they can be stressful, troublesome, and even frightening.

Here the bad guys always win and the lurking creatures are never far behind.

Here the land is dark and barren, here the fairy tales are nothing but lies.

Here evil laughs as good cowers in defeat, here is where every horror stories becomes real.

Here is where each tragic memory is relived, here is the fragment of hope at execution.

Here is where every attempt to save a loved one is just never enough.

Here is where I am held as captive of the night.
