I am gold.
I am noble, valued and pure.
I am beautiful, never rusting, ever shining.
I crown the heads of kings.
I sheath goblets in shine.

I am gold.
Raw I lay in the earth,
Undiscovered,
Unfound,
Yet not unsought.

I am gold.
What will I become that men foolishly seek?
What thing am I to be?
The golden crown of power?
The gleaming coin of greed?

I am gold.
I am valued.
I am praised.
I am worshiped many ways.
I am gold.
