Mortality versus Immortality
Mortality is a quality
Of humanity I admire.
Immortality is a trait
Of which we will soon tire.
There was a time when I was too
Nothing but a mortal being
Living life to the fullest
But moving without seeing
The longer you live
The more centuries that go by
The more you learn to give up
Because there's nothing you wouldn't try
But there is always that one
The one who will change it all
The one that changes your fate
The one for whom you fall
The one is to immortals
What the moon is to the waves
What the sun is to the flowers
And what freedom is to slaves
As the centuries go by
The less we begin to feel
Until that fateful moment
When you become real
