just let it go

The sunset drops in
over the horizon
painting the sky with
orange and pink.
The glow of the
setting sun
leaves orange tint on
your skin
and you are just as
beautiful as the
sunset.
We lay in the green grass
picking dandelions out
of the ground.
The sweet sounds of
your voice fills my ears
and puts me in a
blissful daze.
Speak to me longer darling.
A tingling sensations
leaves a trail of
goosebumps on my skin
where your fingers have been.
The sky darkens
and you still burn bright
like the daytime sun.
The stars begin to shine
the same way your
eyes do when your looking
at me.
I watch the sparking tail
of a shooting star
and you grab my hand.
You tell me to make a wish
as I wish for you,
you squeeze my hand tight.
I look into the sky at the
diamonds shining so brightly
up above the world
as you ask me what
I wished for.
I filled my lungs full of the
pure fresh air of the dandelion patch
and
decided on telling you the truth.
"You." I said, letting the words
slip through along with
the air escaping my lungs.
Quickly you turn to me and
you say "I wished for you too."
Just as the impact of your
words come to me
I find you sinking closer to me.
Before I could
register the scenario
the plumpness of your
lips engulfed my mouth
like I was surrounded in
a wildfire,
so hot and burning my skin like flames.
The cherry lip balm
rubs off onto my lips and
I know I will only
ever buy that flavor from
this second forward
so I will never forget the way
you tasted.
An Earthquake shakes my soul
and I feel the vibrations
of your heart pounding
against my chest.
We gasp for air and
I am drunk.
I stumble to my feet
to walk you home
and the sky is warped.
My mind is foggy,
for you have intoxicated me.
It was just one taste
and God
it will torture me
until the next time my
lips are granted the
allowance of your tongue.
It was just one taste
and it will torture me.
It was just one taste,
oh God,
kiss me again.
