The Blackened Man
The blackened man walks down the street,
Crisp suited shoulders shoving without a second glance,
Crippled backs groan louder then the decks of long abandoned ships,
Somehow still being ignored by their owners.
The dark mans persona distracts and humans stare in distaste,
When a creep is in pain help is rarely offered,
The creeps must instead ignore alluding coughs that suggest they keep moving on,
And they will move on,
Not because you told them to, not because they want to, but because they have to.
These dirty men have lost their pride,
It's all they can do to survive,
And ignore the people like you.
There is no sympathy for ones like him,
He can do what he wants, including work for pay,
But instead he chooses to spend his time making you uncomfortable,
With baggy clothes and a glassy stare.
These are the men you've decided you hate,
Not the ones behind shiny desks in corporate offices,
These thieves take the working mans food, and for free, without having lifted a finger himself.
You and all others seem to forget,
That it is usually those hard working snobs of men who make the poor,
You do not realize that one night is all it takes for everything in your life to be taken away from you...
or at least you will think so at that moment.
But it won't be until you are the blackened man that you realize what losing everything really means.
It won't be until you see your reflection in a cracked McDonalds mirror and stare your lost dignity in the face that you'll see that this is the definition of losing everything.
But for now cough and avoid those men,
Because soon enough,
You might just become one of them.
