The Lonely Hours
September 2, 2014
Life settles
I yearn to be lonely with another
But it would not be genuine
Excruciating pain
Disguised by silent stillness
I cannot cry anymore
If I pull one string from my eye
All the yarn will unravel
And fall into my lap
Does love truly exist?
Or is it all shallow,
Like an empty flower pot?
It's like he said
After Ken Burns
And before the clay sculpture
From this earthly torment
Comes heavenly beauty
Your tears are salty diamonds
You cannot hold an ocean within
It must spill out in unmasked truth
Raw and delicate
And soon you will remember
How stars dawn
And winged creatures sing
And you are not alone
