I love writing. I love the swirl and swing of words as they tangle with human emotions. - James Michener

The clouds roar and rumble.
They spit out rain,
and cover the sun in darkness.
But the sun snaps back,
breaking through the clouds
and charging the sky for a moment.
They go back and forth:
Rumble,
Snap,
Growl,
Zap.
Eventually, the clouds run out
of passion and water.
The sun shines forth,
victorious.

I could really feel a tension-high battle going on here and the struggling lead to a great ending. This is an amazing poem.

Thank you, I'm glad you feel like the sun and not the rain. ;)

I loved the imagery you used, the subtle rhymes and the drama of its beat. I really felt like I was caught up in the display of a storm; you chose your words expertly, with not one out of place! I have one word for you: "Riviting!" Write on, Malaika!

"Do what I do. Hold tight and pretend it's a plan!"

Lovely take on such a common occurence that is a rain storm. I like how your poem can be used as a comparison for daily life as well -- there will always be negative thins warring with the positives in life, but if you're patient and willing to fight against the storm, the sun will come out. Great descriptions, too, I particularly adored the line where the "clouds run out of passion and water."
