No Point
You’ll never get anywhere, there is no point in life
It’s all just darkness, all just strife
You can try and try but you can’t succeed
All you can do is just bleed
Blood will flow and tears will be shed
As you kneel praying by your bed
You pray for safety and you pray for joy
It won’t be granted, your heart destroyed
That’s just how life is, painful and long
If you know what’s good, you just end it all

I wrote this for a friend of mine. She had just read about some depressing theory/idea about how no matter how hard you try you'll never get anywhere so you might as well just give up. She wanted to read a poem based on that idea so I wrote it for her and she really liked it.
