Chocolate Irises
I never dreamed that the color,
Brown,
Would be the one to steal my heart,
But now as I look,
Into your chocolate-colored eyes,
I’m swept away,
By the charming richness,
And wonder,
That I see,
Brown,
A color that never used to,
Hold wonder for me,
Now ensnares my entire heart—
With one simple,
Bat of your eye,
The smooth mocha,
That fills your irises,
Caffeinates my heart,
Making it beat,
Faster,
I never want to look away,
From the dark richness,
That has,
Captivated me,
So instead I lean in,
And kiss your cheek,
Staying close enough,
To gaze into,
Your beautiful,
Brown,
Eyes.
