Eyes on Mine
He told me he wanted to put it behind us
But that look in his eye I can’t soon forget
Still I feel hands and lips on my chest and then lips crushed against mine
My chin is still red from his stubble
I feel different
Do I look different?
Girls are so soft
You just want to pop them
But my throat is still dry from the day before
I have had bottles of water but thirst remains
He said it felt incestuous-
we were such close friends
And I feel the same
I do not love him, that way
Nor do I think I ever did
And if he speaks the truth then he feels the same
I don’t want to lose our friendship to this
He keeps me grounded here
He is the only one I have
I do not rely on him for much though
I never thought about his lips that way
It was fun
Comfortable
Maybe more than it should have been
I felt there was nothing to lose
There was nothing to fear
But I do not want to be with him
Or for this to happen again
I see him only as a friend
He was such a good one
It would be heartbreaking for that to end over this
But the moment of weakness
Is lasting more than a moment
And I haven’t seen him yet today
And I can’t decide if I want to
Because if I feel his eyes on mine
I’ll feel them everywhere else
