For Moments That Last A Lifetime
For moments
that last a lifetime;
They're like dawn and like dusk,
making you rise or fall.
The vivid memories that
left scars in my soul,
caused by the thousand claws,
of insecure beasts.
Like Hyenas they laugh,
pulling at my baggy clothes
as textbooks scattered to the floor.
Their stares pierced my back,
as they haunt the depth
of my shattered mind.
Like sand my confidence washed away,
stolen by the cold ocean's waves.
Still like the beach, always there,
even if you can't see.
Head high and blank stare,
I watch my torturers play,
wondering with inward laughs
and hidden joy,
where they'd be from now on.
