Evil Smoke
One breathe
A deep promise
I grant permission
For this smoothly illicit act
My tongue is lulled
Into a catatonic state
A grey death escapes the crevices of my lips
It playfully teases me
Curling away
My respiratory system has shaken an evil
Taunted a troubled man into an escaped convict
An amorphous ghost
In the form of a smoke puff
Through my deliberate high
I have concocted a true shadow of poison
With a mind of its own
That runs free
Crawls through the air
Spreads out
Disappears
Leaving me all alone
I smile to myself
As I bring the tip of the "innocence" to my lips once more
I inhale yet again
This popular perception of death
