And There She Was
And there she was,
Sitting by the window
Staring into the darkness coming over the sleepy town
And there she was,
Slowly dozing off,
The memories of the cruel past all coming back
And there she was,
A nightmare, hand in hand
Jumping together into the depths of sorrow
She stirs at someone’s touch
Opens her eyes to see the lovely face of her beloved mother
Just to disappear into the abyss again
Come back, she begs
She wakes up with a start
Her shoulders and head heavy,
She walks to her bed but doesn’t sleep
Who knows, maybe she’ll try again tomorrow.
