Rivers
My falling teardrops are shattering diamonds
Carving rivers in your surface.
I will rain
The water will flow
And you will stand, resolute
Without a single tremor.
I am many things-
Gurgling brooks;
Tranquil lakes;
Sobbing rivers;
and vast oceans;
Yet you remain through it all,
Absorbing my water endlessly.
Thank you for being the earth that will last forever
The earth I can depend on
The earth that will swallow my tears
And never crack.
For the friends and family that will always be your shoulder to cry on.
