True Colors
Sometimes in life we're tricked
By pretty things and beautiful sights
Blinded by lies,
Unable to see the truth
We're not forced to believe anything
We just do
Because as humans,
We trust
But now I see the true colors behind it all
And sometimes the true colors aren't always pretty
Sometimes those true colors turn out to be
Different shades of grey
When really at first we saw bright blues
And happy yellows
But those bright blues and happy yellows
Faded out to reveal the hidden grey that
Was underneath
And grey doesn't bring joy,
It doesn't make you laugh
Bright blues and happy yellows make you laugh
And then you find yourself searching
For those colors you once thought were true
Because you want to escape
This grey this... saddness
That your lost in
Because you're tired
And confused
And you just want those fake colors
To actually be real for once
