Scars Remain
Wounds heal but scars remain,
Everlasting reminders of a once unbearable pain,
The memories eventually fade into the abyss,
Which then gives birth to the evil of the darkness,
This darkness is the thing known as hate,
It comes when you open its gates,
This darkness plagues the hearts of men,
It infects their minds and destroys them from within,
A feeling that tears everything apart,
Making you wish you didn't have a heart,
No more hurt no more pain,
Just a constant reminder that the scars remain,
But you only lose if you give in,
I choose to fight this darkness within.

I wrote this as a kind of reminder to myself and others. You don't have to hate. Hate only brings a persons life to ruin. If you fight that you are a much better and stronger person.
