My Heart
My heart
It's falling apart
Breaking like glass
Being ripped down the middle like a piece of paper
I feel as if my heart is a bone
You're the dog
Chewing it and spitting it out without a care
You claw at it and shred it to pieces
Not stopping to pick up the pieces of the mess you've made
It woulld be useless anyway
They can't be put back together
This is a piece of paper so battered
It cannot possibly be put back together again
This heart has endured so much
Been bruises and beaten by the punches of life
Covered in scars that tell the story of it's never ending pain
Life feels a little duller
The light looks a little dinner
And the food seems a little dry
But somehow, it's so much better without you in it
You were the cause of all the pain, all the heartache, all the limitations
Now that you're gone, I can be free, move on, and be happy
My heart can heal
And even though you, my other half have been removed, I feel whole.

This is about how even when your heart is broken and even when your other half is out of your life, you'll be ok. We do not need other people to make us whole.
