Alone in the Dark
All you remember is what happened before it came.
Before it took over your body, and the way it singled you out.
It gave you a warning, but no time to react.
You became an inferno, heating up too fast, too quick.
Your ears had lost a battle under the sea and were drowning.
Your legs got shot at war, and the adrenaline made them go numb and heavy.
But most of all, a black cloud grabbed you from behind and left you spinning.
Coming over you like a whirlwind.
And that was it, it all happened within an instant.
Now, you lay on the floor hearing faint voices all around you.
You can’t move or speak, the darkness still has its grip on you; it has you trapped inside.
Locked inside; its own still frame of time and thought.
Soon enough it lets you go, and you’re free.
