“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.”

Hello, I’m Gus
That’s all he says
Hello, Let’s discuss
What is a pop quiz?
How can I help you?
Why would I care?
Are you feeling blue?
Would I dare?
To tell his story
Of his old glory

Gus grew up in a small town
He was always feeling down
He smiled at everyone
And creating fun
He left one day
That’s all I’ll say
To fight the wolves on the forest edge
He had his pledge
To return to town
But there was nothing around
He walked into the forest
Until he found a florist
She chased him round with a knife
He fled for his life
He continued running
Until he found something stunning
There stood a hill
And on top was a mill
The people inside asked questions
He filled their head’s with suggestions
He stayed there forever
And created the foot lever
Soon a school was built
Filled with those wearing one kilt
He became the mascot
And carried a basket
He soon left this life
And left his wife

That man you see
In the field
Has no tree
Is concealed
In a mask
Of an old foothiller
He’ll never be unmasked
Because he’s such a lady killer
