I look outside to see the American Flag

As it blows in the wind

I think about what our ancestors had to do

To have this flag

And see it blow in the wind

How much it took to get us our freedom

How much it took to get us this country

How much it took to make the flag 

and how much the flag has changed

Thirteen strips for the thirteen original colonies

Fifty starts for our fifty states

Red stading for valor

White for innocence

Blue for justice

look at what the flag symbolizes

and now look where we are

What they must have gone through

I sit staring there thinking about this

Looking at the American Flag

As it blows in the wind
