Stitched Lies
The cool surface
of a sharp material
causes a low breath
to shudder out
of our deteriorating lungs
while we breath in
the burning smoke
from an addictive plant
that we all have tried
because we’re pressured
by the eyes of our friends,
yet they’re not
because they’re actually
planning to hurt us
in the future
by stitching our mouths shut
with our final breaths
and lies of the past
that we once told
so we could get away
with murder.

This piece was written for my Creative Writing class as a drill write, and I really liked it, so I figured I would share it on this site. Thanks!
