At night a vast expanse of black
whispers it’s presence,
rushing over waves
a strong, consistent
steady love.
Wind tousle with care
blue and dark green curls
sharing with the rest
a lovely sea salt scent.
Palm trees steady
slowly swaying
a memory of a little girl
trying to understand.
