Books
Books sitting on my shelf
Pretty like they should be
Books piled on my dresser
Looks chaotic, but intelligent
Books stacked by my pillow
Crushing my head as I sleep
Books scattered on the floor
Not neglected, but read often
Books stacked neatly in the corner
Awaiting the thrift shop
Books overladen with romance
With sex
With boring characters
Books with unsuitable stories
On the shelf
And the dresser
And the bed
And the floor
Those books are good
They are books with excitement
Or with mystery
Or beauty
Or tasteful romance
Or good characters
Or combinations of much goodness
My books are my way
I have many lives.
Perhaps it’s not normal
My love of books
But I will not stop
