Linguistic Cages
I could write novels about your hands
The way they hold the world so carelessly
Hardly keeping you from drifting away
I could write an encyclopedia of
The objects which exist solely in your world
And the individual embers that you stir in my soul
I could create a map and work out
The thriving machinations of your brilliant mind
The twists and turns and loop the loops of wonder within you
But I don't
Because I wouldn't want to capture you
I want you to be the way you are now forever
Savage and mysterious and simply delightful
Somehow your prowess over creation is beyond words
You startle and seduce me with your inhumanity
And all I have to show for it is this little poem
