movie star MAG
He tugged the flower crown from her head and it
caught on her hair
twisting and tangling and
not at all like the movies,
and she smiled
a few strands of hair lighter and eyes a few
shades brighter and maybe she wasn’t
meant to be a movie anyway.

I've always pretended my life was a movie and I was in the starring role. I would act out scenes in the shower and rehearse what I wanted to say until I had it perfect and I'd hope and pray that everything would go according to script. But humans mess up, we make mistakes, we're nowhere near perfect. Life doesn't always go the way movies do, and maybe that's okay.
