But Words Will Never Hurt Me
Words don't hurt,
thoughts do.
Someone may say something,
But it is your thoughts that imply
these words are bad.
There is no one to blame but yourself.
Words cause no physical pain.
Words lead your brain to emotional pain.
Each tear is an inference of a thought.
Words are only as painful as you think.
Words don't hurt,
context is the translation.
You are at fault.
It is your own, self-inflicted pain.
"Sticks and stones may break my bones,
but words will never hurt me."

Viewer discretion: if you are depressed you probably shouldn't read this poem. It has some pretty intense themes. Please don't blame me, I just like writing about stuff not everyone agrees with. Thank you.
