Sun's Going Down
It was a sunset just like that,
do you remember?
the shoulder bumps and finger tip crawls
the click clack shoes
cold crispy breeze
the brilliant autumn hues.
I remember.
I remember perfectly.
Your eyes
were a darker shade of brown
and your grin was half smudged-
it was becoming hard to locate it.
I miss it.
Tell me how I can unset this sun
lift back these fallen leaves
turn them back to their
rich green.
Tell me quickly,
yet another sun is about to set,
another day is fading on me,
another sky is turning blue
another day
I haven't seen you.
The yellows and reds don't feel
warm
without you
standing by my side
and I must admit, this pain
is becoming harder to abide.
When will you return
with glistening eyes and bring back
the sunrise
with heat, that irresistible heat
that passion
the nights where I could sleep
sound
no tosses and turns
no panicking pounces
no red eyes sore,
I remember
those nights of splendor
those days of joy
I felt awake.
But the sun is pulling down
all visible light
and stealing the warmth,
I'm watching the sun set and
freezing
in the cold.
