The crooked man
I’m a crooked man that’s true
But I managed to always pull through.
It’s not easy being a crooked man, you see.
I have no one to be with or call family.
I’m kind to women, always a gent.
But no woman likes a guy that is bent.
I may be crooked from what you see at the start
But I’m not the one with a crooked heart.
It shouldn’t be all about appearance,
But wisdom, strength, and perseverance.
People want to believe what they see
But what they see isn’t the real me.
So I may be a crooked man, that’s true
But maybe the crooked man isn’t me, but you.
