Falling From Grace
I hold myself to a standard of Grace
Not perfection
I did that is, until I didn't
because perfection is what we
Strive for
And grace is just a minor note
so what if everyone likes you
No one will remember if you're nice
You have to always look good
This is war, suit up
never bck down
hit or be hit
say or be told
I have seen the stars fall
right out of the sky
Landing gently in your blue eyes
You sparkle with such honesty
Not yet branded by society
You had not breathed the toxic air
Of false hpappiness in such perfection
I've taken too many toxic breaths
addicted like a drug
to hold myself to a higher standard
then a societal perfection
Keep your head held high
and keep that sparkle
No more living for their "perfection"
No more falling from grace
