Guidance
I remember the first time that she met him
The day she told him to watch over me; to guide me
Said I had no sense of direction
That I wandered.
But I guess he forgot to answer
that his words would sting and electrify like metal on cement
and his unnerving gaze
and threatening hands
would lead me anywhere but home.
