The Weeping Willow
Oh, Willow,
Why do you weep?
You stand there,
So tall,
So poise,
With reaching arms,
Holding us,
So, why do you weep?
Are we not enough?
Is there another there?
Your labor doesn’t go unnoticed,
Appreciated, thanked, respected,
So why do you weep?
Your leaves shroud me from the light,
Hide me from the pain,
Blur the truth,
Yet that is not enough,
Show me the colors of your bark,
Why, Willow?
When will you see the light?
Answer me with your praise,
With your answers,
Why do you weep?
The weary night continues,
With ever a time for weeping,
Yet you never stop to talk,
Oh, Willow, please
Tell us why you weep!
If there ever were a time,
Ever a chance,
Explain,
Let the pain cease,
Talk to us and say,
Why ever do you weep?
You are never alone,
Never again,
No matter the obstacle,
No matter the hard truth,
Tell us why you weep,
And we can weep with you.
