Spark
A cold dark corner near the window sill
She searched the night sky for any trace of light.
The tears feel acidic on her face
Burning down the remains of her dreams.
These are your inner devils,
You unleashed – she thought.
Reluctance everywhere.
Shattered at times and healing back
Devils she fought weren’t only hers.
Cringed by the norms of world,
A child’s play seemed more wishful.
Still no bright in the cloudy sky
Not even the owls knew a storm was resting by.
Now the water had dried
Leaving behind the trails of salts
A spark flickered in her
As a firefly buzzed around.
The wings were there but tied back in threads
She struggled out of the darkness,
The storm had risen, shone
Bright blue streaks in the sky.
And she knew she needed to fly.
