Jo-Jo and I
Jo-Jo and I
I can hear jo-jo’s electric wheelchair
Rolling up the wooden ramp.
I haven’t seen him in a while.
Jumping in his lap,
Squeezing his neck real tight,
Saying “what did you get me?!”
Jo-Jo and I riding around the room
“Go faster please!” and he would always do so
Jo-Jo and Mema talking about how he should be careful with me.
Jo-Jo and I in his blue van.
Me riding in the backseat without my seatbelt
Me sliding from left to right.
Jo-Jo and I eating jumbo corndogs.
Jo-Jo and I laying on the soft beach sand looking at the beautiful night sky.
Jo-Jo and I having a silly face contest, I always win.
Jo-Jo and I riding back home in his blue van.
Then something happened,
A phone call
A last beep on the hospital machine
My tears, lots of them.
His funeral.
My Jo-Jo time is now over,
Goodbye Jo-Jo, Goodbye.
