He's Not Home MAG
He’s not home.
He never is.
He carries discomfort
wherever
he migrates
stares at unsettlement through
dreary fogged eyes, tear
drop
consumed and strokes
nuisance
with frigid fumbling fingers.
He staggers across sidewalks
and swipes frozen counters off
hands covered
frost
freezing
trembling
falling
down pavement stairs
head dropped toward feet
stumbling on an oversized wardrobe
snapping icicles stuck to cheeks
biting bleeding broken brims
and slicing already slit wrists.
He’s not home.
He never is.
