Dear mysterious people

Who crowd each and every day
You sit and you watch, critiquing everything
Why must I be perfect for you?
Why must I please you with my appearance?
Do you really mean anything?

Dear mysterious people
Why must you make me feel self-conscious?
You make decisions for me.
Whether my shirt should be black or red
I can’t ignore you no matter how hard I try
For your beady little eyes stare holes in my soul

Dear mysterious people
I’ve decided to part from you
No longer will I be bound by your chains
I will wear what I wish
I will get what I want
And your opinion no longer matters

Dear Mysterious people
I’ve decided to be different!
I will shout my uniqueness to the world
Not fearing your dreadful thoughts
Opening up my emotions without holding back
NOW YOU FINALLY UDERSTAND THAT I NO LONGER CARE!

Because I’m free

When I wrote this poem I really just wanted to really explain to people how much the opinion of others dont really matter.  You should be happy with being who you are because guess what! Theres only one of you on theis entire planet!!!  Im reaching out to those especially targeted by bullying and depression at a young age.  So I hope you enjoy my poem!
