Talanted
Two cellos, one teenaged boy
Long strokes are whole notes
Tempo never fast enough for him
Listening in to the rhythm and time
Swinging across the dance floor
Smiling at his honey dressed in blue
Swinging across the dance floor
Simply happy for his blessed time with her
He makes conducting look easy
Pepped up for home games
Marching eight-to-five
Right on time
He always gives hugs.
He always says “HELLO!”
He always makes jokes.
He always smiles happily.
He sits there tapping a pencil
Down, in, out, up
He sits there holding a page
Trying to read all the parts
He plays two cellos
He plays the trombone and tuba
He plays the baton
He is Chris

This is for one of my dear friends and it is one of a few in the poem collection that I am making currently.
