The mouse’s paws quivering

just like my hands when
handing in my final assignment
fighting the force pushing
down on my lungs to get one
more look at my heart threshing work
only when they reset the trap
and lure you in with a block
cheese or new tablets we think look
cool then every year we end up taking
the bait and making the same mistake
