Gift Poem
I know we don’t see each other anymore
But I miss you
And I love you
Do you remember me
The girl who was once in your life
The one why stressed you out
Or made you happy
Maybe even proud
Remember the past
When I felt like you loved me
I felt safe with you
Protected by your strong arms
When you loved me
Why did that change
Your words hurt me
I’m still not myself
Scared to look you in the eye
So I decided to leave
I miss the old you
All of the happier times
Your laugh and voice
Our hugs and jokes
The help, love, and life lessons
I miss you
To the extent of crying almost daily
But I will always miss you
and dad, I still love you
