To The Brim MAG
A rusted metallic light
sways in the gentle breeze
coming from the peak of night,
outside the worn-down saloon doors.
The tavern was dim, yet warm
and filled to the brim with laughter
Cowboys young and elderly
dressed with aged hats and chaps
do-si-doed around with their fine ladies.
The airy, colorful and patterned dresses
cover most of the small wooden dance floor
that matched with the weathered cowgirl boots.
On the squeaky bar stools and corner booths
the cowboys play competitive blackjack.
Everyone embraces life to the fullest of their brims
while “clicks” of boots and spurs stomp against
the wooden boards and country music fills the
misty midnight air, all the way to the brim.
