Masks
Looking in the mirror
Afraid of what you might see
Trying not to shed a tear
Which mask will it be?
The sun shines outside
The birds sing in the trees
You use the masks to hide inside
What more could they want from me?
I guess today
That I’ll be happy
Don’t know which way
This poem is so sappy.
You know how to pretend
You’ve done it all your life
You lie to all your friends
You wish you had some strife.
People ask what’s wrong
But they don’t understand
No one hears my song
My masks are in my hand
There’s so many masks
There’s nothing I can do
Please free me from my cast
Which mask will you choose?
