The Staircase of Life
Everybody is climbing the staircase of life,
but they are climbing it at different rates.
Some climb it fast, some slow.
For some it is really easy to travel,
but for others it's a steeper hill.
Sometimes the steps become harder than others,
or they could be too risky.
Some people travel it alone.
Sometimes you take a step and
not move for a while.
Sometimes you lose your balance
and you fall down the stairs to where you started.
You look up and see where you once were and think,
"How can I ever get back to where I was!"
So you sit down on a step while everyone around you
is moving upwards on the staircase of life.
Eventually you decide to start moving again.
You walk up a few steps and there is someone
standing in front of you blocking your path.
They look down at you, and the previous
steps you've taken in life.
They scoff at you and say "You don't belong here,
you'll never make it in life, go back
to where you came from.
You stop at that step, doubting yourself
and your capabilities.
Then someone comes along who is also
traveling the staicase of life.
They tell you that you are worth everything,
then they take your hand and carry you
through the staircase of life.
You eventually get passed to where
you origianlly started.
No matter how hard it gets
you just gotta keep climbing, keep moving
forward on the staircase of life.
