A pretty face with a beautiful soul.
He was everything
to everyone.
People loved him
one and all.
I said “forever”

there were days I was mad
but, he was always there to make it better.
He was my forever
and my best friend.
We were each a part of a whole
each loving the other
things would never change
that’s what I believed
I said “we fight together”

He had always been a year older
a teenager a year before me.
He fell in love with a girl
he was nothing to her.
Anger and fury
my eyes filled with black
“I can’t, I won’t!”
He slammed the door
I said “I hate you”

He slipped through my fingers
sand through a filter.
The man was drunk
he was going way too fast.
both cars were pulverized.
the hospital room was quiet.
the nurse finished unplugging the machines.
