A Strange Thing Called Love
She lives in the dark
unseen to all
waiting for the sun to come out
to swallow up the darkness
At last, love arrives
like water
quenching her thirst
filling her body with new life
She finds courage
to leave her home
to explore
to feel
new things
Love makes her hopeful
makes her strong
fills her with fire
a fire, that glows
brighter and brighter
until she can’t control it anymore
She is horrified
and in awe
of this thing called love
she is baffled
at how the very thing that rescued her
made her feel trapped again
She crawls back into the dark
waiting for her time
to revel in the wonders and disappointments
of love
once more
