The Lamb Who Stumbled
Rough, furry skin emitting a mud-soaked white colour
Little lamb arises from behind the shaggy crown of its forebears
Letting out the tiniest ‘bah’ so all the other sheep hiss at it in fury;
Rotten skin from within, barking out their insidious shame.
Little lamb stumbles on,
Baahing familiar lullabies;
Until one day,
It discovers a pure golden sunrise:
And it was like discovering a friend
Who saw that your beginning was not your end.
